Bataa Tumur-Ochir is the Chairman and CEO of Steppe Gold Limited. He is a Mongolian citizen with extensive global experience in mining and oil and gas industries. He is responsible for new business acquisitions, development and government and community relations.
He co-founded Steppe Gold in 2016. The Company has achieved significant milestones in a short time, including completing an IPO on the TSX in 2018 and developing the ATO Gold Mine from greenfield in 2017 to commercial production in 2020.
Under Bataa’s guidance, Steppe Gold has received numerous industry awards. In 2021, Bloomberg Mongolia recognized Steppe Gold’s ATO Gold Mine as the Development of the Year due to its growing potential in Phase 2.
Fully secured $150 million in financing, Phase 2 Expansion at ATO Gold Mine aims to produce 100,000 ounces of gold equivalent per annum for 12 years by 2025.
With a clear vision and unwavering determination, Mr. Bataa, 38, is now building a promising mid-tier precious metals producer, positioned for growth and beyond. Steppe Gold has expanded its portfolio to include the ATO Gold Mine in Mongolia, the Tres Cruces Oxide Gold Project in Peru, and has ambitious plans for exploration and acquisitions in Mongolia.
Mr. Bataa Tumur-Ochir is a Mongolian national responsible for new business acquisitions, development and government and community relations. Mr. Tumur-Ochir has over 10 years of experience in mining industry.
