CopperCorp is a well-financed mineral exploration company with a dominant land package in a tier 1 mining jurisdiction, Tasmania, Australia. The company is identifying and completing exploration work at its 100% wholly owned AMC and Skyline projects targeting district-scale copper-gold and REE discoveries at the Razorback property in western Tasmania, a region with 150-year mining history. Western Tasmania is a world-class mineral province with several large, multi-decade mines, a skilled workforce, strong government support and 100% renewable energy.
CopperCorp believes the Razorback Project area to be promising for magmatic-hydrothermal related iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG), and hybrid porphyry-epithermal Cu-Au/Au-only deposits. Previous exploration drilling in the early 1980s yielded intercepts of 13.4m with 1.6% Cu and 1.6g/t Au at the Jukes prospect, but no follow-up drilling has been reported. The Hydes prospect contains outcropping chalcopyrite mineralization over 500m and up to 30m wide, with rock chip samples showing 0.5 to 1.25% Cu.
The area also shows great potential for REE mineralization. Historical drilling results indicate REE mineralization, enriched in Neodymium, Praseodymium, Dysprosium, Yttrium, Cerium, and Lanthanum, with notable intercepts of 30.0m @ 2.1% & 85.0m @ 0.5% TREO at the South Darwin prospect.
CopperCorp controls a 1,066 km² region, the AMC Project, which shows potential for a large Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG)-style system. Notably, recent drilling at the Alpine targeted high-grade copper zones, evident in reported intercepts. The deposit's size is still undefined and deeper drilling is required.
At the Jasper Hills prospect, the rock chip sampling program has unveiled significant copper-gold and polymetallic mineralization. Historical assays have shown up to 16.45% Cu, 10.1g/t Au, 37.9% Zn+Pb, 612g/t Ag, and 1.05% Sn. CopperCorp has intensified its regional explorations, starting with 23 priority Cu-Au areas in the AMC Project, with Jasper Hills as a priority. Follow-up exploration is ongoing.
