Gregory Evans is an environmental lawyer and partner with McGuire Woods, a U.S. based law firm with over 1,000 lawyers in 14 cities including London. Greg received his law degree from the University of Notre Dame, a Masters Degree in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley, and bachelor of science degree from the University of Southern California.
Gregory Evans has practiced environmental law for over 30 years. He has received many awards for his work including from the prestigious American Lawyer and National Law Journal. His work and opinions on mining issues have been reported in the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Bloomberg and other media.
Greg has represented mining companies at all phases of mining activities including the development, mining, milling, reclamation and closed facility stages. He has served some of the largest metals mining companies at over 100 different sites in the United States and abroad, including at over 15 Superfund Sites and at many sites where poor and lower socioeconomic communities have been directly impacted by mining activities.
Through this work and through his service on internationally recognized civil rights, social justice and charitable organizations, Greg has successfully assisted the mining industry in efforts to mitigate and to address mining’s societal impacts.
