Naomi is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the mining industry as a geotechnical and tailings engineer. She has worked on projects all over the world including paste backfill, conventional slurry, dry stack and integrated mine waste storage facilities.
She has design, construction, and auditing experience as well undertaken technical due diligence and most recently risk engineering as senior risk engineer with ZRS. She has worked on all stages of tailings projects from PEA, scoping and options studies through to detailed design, construction, operational review and optimisation, closure and post failure review and inspection. She has also worked and managed mining geotechnical projects considering heap leach designs, underground excavations and open pit slope stability issues. She has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams including hydrogeologist, hydrologist, mine engineers, process engineers and ESG specialists. During her time with ZRS she has drawn on her 20 years’ experience to review and assessed projects from every continent and commodities including, precious metals, gemstones, base metals and industrial minerals for risk engineering for casualty and environmental liability and property damage and business interruption risk.
