Southern Cross Gold (SXG) is exploring for gold and antimony in the Victorian goldfields.
Our flagship project, the 100%-owned Sunday Creek epizonal-style gold project, is located 60 km north of Melbourne within 19,365 ha of granted exploration tenements. SXG is also the freehold landholder of 133.29 ha that form the key portion in and around the main drill area.
Sunday Creek is considered to be one of the best new high grade and large exploration discoveries to come out of Australia in recent times.
Mineralisation has been drilled over 1,000 m along strike and remains open beyond 1,000 m depth at the main drill area within an 11,000 m mineralised corridor. This large footprint is being drill tested for the very first time to depth by the fourth drill rig at the Tonstal, Consols and Leviathan prospects up to 7,500 m away from the main drill area.
Hit rates are globally leading with 31 individual intersections exceeding 50 AuEq g/t x m (“AuEq g/t x width in m”) and 15 individual intersections exceeding 100 AuEq g/t x m with less than 30,000 m drilled to date by SXG.
Mineralisation at the Sunday Creek project is hosted in late-Silurian to early-Devonian-aged shales and siltstones containing a series of dykes of felsic-intermediate composition. Gold is concentrated mainly in and around the EW to NE-SW trending felsic dykes, within predominately NW oriented brittle multiple sheeted veins and cataclastic zones. Individual high-grade quartz-stibnite veins at Apollo and Golden Dyke, and cataclastic zones at Gladys were the focus of historical mining at Sunday Creek. These zones have been proven to continue to depth by SXG.
A 3D presentation of the region, mineralised host structure and drilling at Sunday Creek can be found on our home page at www.southerncrossgold.com.au.
We are fully permitted and funded and currently have four diamond drill rigs operating with a continuous flow of significant news to the market.
Our corporate objectives are to discover and develop large, long-life, sustainable assets which create value for shareholders and all stakeholders in the community.
We welcome any and all visitors to our booth M39 to further discuss our globally leading activities.
